A heraldic system for a serious companion.
Squire is a hired professional — a D&D henchman, not a pet. The visual language leans on parchment, hammered brass, and blackletter-adjacent display type. Medieval, but restrained. No clipart shields, no foil flourishes.

Each direction pairs a wordmark with a mark that survives down to 16 px. Click a card to set it as the primary across the rest of the package.
2.1 Size Test
Each mark down-rendered. The shield-cross (A) reads cleanest at 16 px; the monogram (B) and tactical (D) also hold. The banner (C) is a hero-only mark and falls back to the monogram at small sizes.

The pitch
You don't want a pet. You want a hand — someone who keeps working when you log off the shaft and pop up for a snack, someone who can be trusted with a sword and a patrol route, someone who remembers the way home.
Squire adds a single, serious NPC: a companion that does things the way a player would. It walks, swims, eats, and sleeps. It fights with the weapon you handed it. It mines in shafts, it farms in rows, it fishes where the water is deep enough. No teleport pings, no free labor. You hire it, you equip it, and it earns its keep.
What it does
Plays like a player
Walks, swims, eats, rests. No teleporting to you, no shortcuts through terrain. If the route is broken, it finds another one — or it stops and waits.
Autonomous work
Sweep-mine or shaft-mine on command. Farm a row, harvest, replant, repeat. Fish at any body of water deep enough to cast into.
Roles, not macros
/squire role MINER | FARMER | FISHER — switch posture and the AI adjusts tactics, targets, and daily rhythm.
Home chest aware
Designate a home chest and the squire deposits hauls, retrieves tools, and manages its own inventory between tasks.
Mounted patrols
Put it on a horse with /squire mount. It rides a patrol line, engages threats with the weapon you gave it, returns when clear.

FAQ
Does it work with ATM10?
Yes. Squire is a NeoForge 1.21.1 mod and has been tested alongside All the Mods 10. It also runs standalone or in smaller packs.
Can it teleport to me?
No — by design. The squire walks the world the way you do. If you outpace it, it catches up on its own terms.
Does it duplicate items?
No. Every item it deposits was mined, harvested, or fished by its own hand. No spawned loot, no multipliers.
Can I have more than one?
One active squire per player is the design intent. Plans for retinues are tracked in the roadmap.
How do I report bugs?
GitHub issues on the source repo. Include your modpack list, NeoForge version, and a reproduction seed if possible.
